At Apollo Bramwell Hospital, Quality Management is an integrative management practice that produces excellent results every time by meeting and exceeding stakeholders’ and public expectations. Quality Management at Apollo Bramwell Hospital also requires that excellence and quality be embedded in everything we do. By reinforcing the goals and objectives of patient care, Quality is not only an additional step of control or inspection, but an integral part of our daily practices and work for every employee throughout the hospital.
The hospital is continuously exploring ways of improving the quality of healthcare through the latest evidence-based medicine, audits of services, integrated care pathways, indicator measurements, voice of customers, customer satisfaction including complaints/incidents and other standardization frameworks. Apollo Bramwell Hospital places patient safety at the heart of its service provision and has developed their quality systems in accordance with the Joint Commission International standards, and the internationally accepted clinical outcomes benchmarks.
Accreditation is a process in which an entity, separate and distinct from the health care organization, usually nongovernmental, assesses the health care organization to determine if it meets a set of requirements (standards) designed to improve the safety and quality of care. Accreditation provides a visible commitment by an organization to improve the safety and quality of patient care, to ensure a safe care environment, and to continually work to reduce risks to patients and staff. Indeed, Accreditation has gained worldwide attention as an effective quality evaluation and management tool.
Joint Commission International (JCI) is the international arm of The Joint Commission (U.S.A.); JCI’s mission is to improve the quality and safety of health care in the international community and is currently the Global Leader of Health Care Accreditation.
Through scientific and evidence-based measuring tools of Tracer Methodology, JCI Accreditation Improvement was and is visible, and achievable with accountability measurement performance at Apollo Bramwell Hospital.
On the other hand, ISO standards are selected by default to be implemented in the ABH laboratory, measured and certified by the national ISO Accreditation Board once the laboratory is found fit.
Our patients are partners in healthcare with us; there is a proactive culture of speak up wherein the patient participates by asking questions at every point of care, is involved in decision making and understands the care and treatment provided. From the time the patient steps in the hospital till the discharge journey, Quality Standards are applied and respected to cater for best Quality of Healthcare that the patient experiences.
Our ultimate aim of embedding Quality and Accreditation in our hospital is to:
